The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has announced it has made a second quarter payment (July 1 – September 30) totalling $802,446 to the City of Belleville for hosting Shorelines Casino Belleville.
So far, during OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026), Belleville has received $1,625,562.
Money received from OLG goes towards Belleville’s infrastructure and capital projects in the region.
OLG says in a press release that payments are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is consistently applied across all land-based casino sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“Belleville is able to offer local programs and improve the quality of life of our residents through the economic activity generated through revenue from Shorelines Casino Belleville,” said Bay of Quinte MPP Tyler Allsopp in the release.
“The people of Ontario benefit from OLG’s gaming revenues as 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in the province to support provincial priorities.”
Since the gaming site opened in January 2017, Belleville has received $23,949,147.
