More than 200 people gathered at West Zwick’s Park Saturday night for the fourth annual Light The Night event.
Light the Night honours those affected by blood cancers.
It is inspired by the memory of Carol Goerke.
Funds raised by the event support research and educational resources, along with services and support.

Donations are still coming in but about $48,000 has been raised so far through the walk and an online auction.
Sophia Guay, an executive director of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada said, “We are truly honoured and moved by the determination and hard work of our volunteers in Belleville, particularly (chair) Liane Woodley, who has turned grief into purpose. Donations to Light the Night Belleville will go directly to improve the outcomes of treatment and quality of life for our blood cancer community.”
There are still other fundraising events to come this month including the 3 on 3 Basketball Buckets for a Cause at CSS on October 18 and Spin for the Cure – at Mindful Movement Studio on October 25.
