A raid on illegal cannabis production on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory is underway.
The Tyendinaga Police Service and the OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau is executing multiple warrants on the reserve.
Officials indicate the raids involve non-Indigenous criminal organizations, that are exploiting Indigenous lands.
They go on to say there are a limited number of community members also involved.
The projected profits are estimated to be in the millions.
