Northumberland OPP have charged a motorist following a collision.
On September 17 at around 5:25 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the area of Oak Ridges Drive and County Road 28 in the Township of Hamilton.
The Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services also attended for non-serious injuries. Through investigation and speaking with one of the drivers involved, police began an impaired operation investigation which resulted in the individual being taken into custody and transferred to a local detachment for further tests.
As a result, Jessica Howden (31), from the Township of Cavan Monaghan, has been charged with:
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
– Careless driving
– Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
She also received a further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.
