Quinte West firefighters were called out to a boat fire late Wednesday night.
Just after 11:30 p.m., crews from Station 2 were called to the end of Hutchinson Road
at the Murray Canal where a docked 30-foot pontoon boat was fully engulfed in flames.
There were no people on or near the boat and there was at least one explosion involving
the boat’s fuel tank and some of the gas burning off on the water’s surface.
The vessel was destroyed and there were no reports of injury.
An investigation into a cause is underway.
