Volunteers are still invited to participate in this week’s Community tree planting event on Friday at Cascades Park in Belleville.
The Quinte Field Naturalists are hosting the event in conjunction with Quinte Conservation, Tree Canada, the City of Belleville, the LCBO Spirit of Sustainability campaign, and Connon Nurseries.
Volunteers are needed to help plant trees and native plants to transform the space into a beautiful, natural area.
Planting begins at 10 a.m. at the park located at 33 Tracey Park Drive.
Parking is located along Cascade Blvd.
Please note that this event is entirely outdoors, therefore please dress appropriately and bring water. Outdoor toilets are available. Event will take place rain or shine but will be cancelled via email in the event of thunder and lightening.
Please bring:
- Personal Supply of Water & Food (lunch & snacks)
- Mandatory Closed Toed Footwear (steel toed preferred)
- Hat
- Sunscreen & Bug Spray
- Gloves
- Shovels & Hand Spades (if able)
