A thirty-one-year-old man has been charged after an individual was assaulted in Colborne.
On Tuesday evening, Northumberland OPP responded to a report of an individual brandishing a construction-related item during an altercation on King Street West.
One person sustained non-serious injuries.
With a description provided by witnesses, officers located an individual nearby on Church Street East.
Thomas Merriman of Colborne was arrested on charges of:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Mischief – destroys or damages property
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in October.
