A Trent Hills resident faces multiple charges after OPP arrested a man on outstanding warrants related to three incidents of dangerous driving on a motorcycle.
On June 23, a Peterborough County OPP officer was conducting patrol in Havelock when they observed a blue and white sport-style motorcycle, with no licence plate, pull out from a local business.
The officer attempted a traffic stop but the motorcyclist sped away at a high rate of speed.
Police learned the identity of the driver and obtained a warrant.
The accused was seen by police twice more and both times, sped away.
What was believed to be the same motorcycle, still without a licence plate, was observed by OPP on August 8 on Highway 7 in Asphodel-Norwood.
On August 29, police attempted to stop a red and silver sport-style motorcycle with no licence plate, on county Road 40 in Asphodel-Norwood Township, believing it was the same driver as the other incidents.
On Tuesday, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit located and arrested the accused on a property in Trent Hills.
Nineteen-year-old Colton Hutley-Stephens is charged with:
• Dangerous operation – three counts
• Flight from peace officer – two counts
• Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – three counts
• Drive motor vehicle – no licence
• Drive motor vehicle – no plates
The accused was transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment where he was held for bail.
