The municipality of Brighton issued fewer permits last month compared to the year before but the construction value is much higher.
Only seven permits were granted in August but they were worth $3.3 million in construction.
That’s compared to 13 permits worth $1.7 million issued in August 2024.
Permits for two new single-detached dwellings make up most of last month’s total as they are each worth in excess of one million dollars.
Year-to-date numbers show a similar situation.
One-hundred-eighteen permits worth $42.4 million were issued over the first eight months of last year.
So far this year there have been 118 permits but the construction value is $108.4 million.
