The start of construction on the new YMCA Centre for Life is getting closer.
Before construction on the new location at 355 Bridge Street West can start, a gas main that runs through the middle of the property must be relocated.
The City of Belleville has contracted Enbridge to complete the work which is expected to take about a month.
Future work in this area will be limited to the installation of new twin sanitary forcemains, as part of the ongoing Avonlough Sewage Pumping Station project.
The city says at this time Bridge Street West will not be widened at this location.
It will be widened at the Sidney Street intersection as part of the Avonlough Sewage Pumping Station project in the future.
