There was $5.5 million of construction activity on the strength of 36 permits issued last month.
In August 2024, the Building Department issued 58 permits worth just over $9 million.
Five of the permits granted last month were for new homes, including secondary suites.
Year-to-date construction value is just a little behind last year.
There have been 398 permits worth $78.7 million granted through the end of August compared to 488 permits valued at just over $80 during the first eight months of 2024.
