Brighton council will begin a process to increase the municipality’s housing supply.
On Monday, council voted to have staff consult with local committees and request public input before bringing an Official Plan Amendment to council for approval.
If all goes according to plan, that amendment would allow three additional residential units on a single residential property.
One of the units could be a stand-alone structure while two others would be located inside an existing dwelling.
Brighton currently allows just two additional residential units on a single property.
