A young driver has been hit with a long list of charges.
On Monday, Nothumberland OPP officers were were on patrol on King Street East in the Township of Cramahe. They saw a vehicle being driven erratically, including hopping the curb onto the sidewalk.
After stopping the vehicle, officers began an investigation, finding that none of the passengers in the vehicle, including four children, were wearing seatbelts.
The driver was taken into custody, and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs. operation while impaired – blood alcohol over 80, careless driving, driving without a rear light, novice driver blood alcohol over zero, G2 licence – more passengers than seatbelts, and four counts of child passenger not secured.
The name of the accused was not released, to protect the identity of the children.
