The amount of planned construction activity in Prince Edward County was a little higher last month than it was in July of 2024.
The county’s Chief Building Official says 69 permits were issued with a construction value of a little over $12 million in July.
Last year 64 permits were granted with a total value of $9.5 million.
The planned construction of nine new single-family homes made up almost half

The largest permit issued last month was for a pre-engineered large insulated farm shop at a value of $3 million on County Road 5.
To the end of July, 362 building permits were issued with a value of almost $73.3 million. For the first seven months of last year 430 permits were granted with a value of just under $71 million.
