Marilyn Grace Bloomdale
Surrounded by the love of her family, Marilyn passed peacefully at the Belleville General Hospital on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Daughter of the late Albert and Edith Berger of London, Marilyn was a woman whose faith, love and grace positively impacted everyone she met. She shared a wonderful life of love and laughter of almost 73 years with her husband Edward (Ted) Bloomdale (formerly of London), having lived in 17 locations across the country from Ottawa to Vancouver. There were many episodes of “Ted and Marilyn’s marvellous adventures!” She shared a deep and special bond with her children: Edward (Nancy) of Oshawa, Kathy (David Meldrum) of Petawawa, and Chris (Annette) of Mississauga. She found endless joy in her role as Grandmother, forging deep bonds with each of her grandchildren: Ted Bloomdale, Mary Bloomdale, Tony (Chelsea) Bloomdale, Joshua (Meghan) Meldrum, Jessica McQuestion, and as Great-Grammy to Eli McQuestion. Marilyn is survived by her sister Gail Hutt of St. George, along with a nephew Geoffrey(Cathy) Hutt of Parry Sound. She was pre-deceased by her brother Albert. A Private Service will be held at Sidney Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, PSWs and staff of the Belleville General Hospital for the amazing love and care they provided to Marilyn in her final weeks. Those wishing to honour Marilyn’s memory may consider a donation to the Sidney Baptist Church, where she has been a member for 34 years.
