Melanie Cressman is set to join the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward as its new executive director beginning in mid-August.
Humane Society HPE shared the news in a release on Friday.
Cressman is currently the executive director of The Children’s Foundation, and has served in that role since January 2023.
On behalf of the board of directors, Greg Sudds acknowledged and thanked Chris Barry and Marilyn Lawrie for their work steering the shelter in the interim.
Barry served as interim executive director following the departure of Kareen McKinnon.
Lawrie is a former executive director who retired in June 2024 and served in a support role for Barry.
