Management at Quinte Health is pleased with recent staff recruiting efforts.
On Tuesday, CEO Stacey Daub told the board of directors that since January, 175 new staff have been
hired, including 13 doctors in various specialties and 67 registered nurses.
Overall the number of permanent vacancies is less than 100, back to pre-pandemic levels.
Also there’s been some interest from American medical professionals wanting to move north of the border but no one has signed on yet.
Daub credits a strong partnership with Loyalist College and relationships with other training colleges for the improving hiring climate but there are still challenges with recruiting emergency room physicians and some other types of specialists.
