The South East Health Unit is the legal name of the merged health units in Belleville, Kingston and Brockville, but a name for its public-facing operations has been determined at its meeting on Wednesday.
The Board of Health approved having its public-facing name be Southeast Public Health (SEPH).
As part of its rebranding process, a survey was distributed to South East Health Unit staff to gather input as to how they wanted to be seen and represented by the new brand identity.
A report to the board states the response rate was more than 50 per cent.
Notable results of the survey saw sixty-four per cent of staff preferring a geographical name over a creative name and eighty-four per cent of staff preferring to have “public health” included in the name, as opposed to “health unit.”
Confirming the name allows staff taking part in the rebranding campaign to finalize the domain name, email address, social media handles, logo and more.
The next step will be a vote for all staff and BOH members on their preferred logo and tagline.
