A 38-year-old man is charged with assault after allegedly striking a 13-year-old child with a TV stand.
Belleville police responded to a city residence around 9 p.m. Sunday.
When they arrived, the child’s mother had separated the involved parties and deescalated the situation.
The child received minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
The accused was arrested at the scene.
He was released on an Officer in Charge Undertaking with conditions, including a scheduled court appearance in June.
The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
