Quinte West OPP have laid charges following an incident involving a firearm in Trenton.
On Monday at around 11:30 a.m., OPP officers as well as the canine unit responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Trenton Street.
Police received information that an individual had entered a home and assaulted the occupants while brandishing a firearm.
Minor injuries were sustained in the incident.
An investigation led to the arrest of 29-year-old Austin Lloyd of Quinte West.
He is charged with the following:
- Pointing a Firearm x2
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Assault with a Weapon x2
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm x2
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Possession of Weapon for dangerous Purpose
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order x2
- Assault
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
