Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation (TMHF) honoured supporters Thursday at its annual donor recognition event.
This year’s gathering focused on honouring individuals, families, and organizations who generously donated to the foundation to help purchase vital
equipment needed for Trenton Memorial Hospital
TMHF Executive Director Lindsay Butcher Dodds expressed gratitude on behalf of the foundation. “Thank you to our donors for believing in the power of community and for being the heart of TMH. Your support gives our hospital staff the tools, equipment, and confidence they need to deliver the very best care. Today is about honouring the incredible difference you make in the lives of patients and families across our region.”
The event also featured remarks from TMHF Board Vice Chair Darrell Smith, Quinte Health Vice President Matt Campbell, TMHF Directors Josephine Robertson, Michelle Mackay, Jae Cheyne, and Arlene Larosa about the significance of the donor wall and recognized those who had moved up in giving levels this year.
ER Registered Nurse and patient lead Chris Wilson also addressed the group saying, “Having up-to-date equipment at TMH is critical. Thanks to donor support, new tools like the neonatal warmer and ultrasound will help us respond faster and provide safer, more effective care when every second counts.”
Lyn Chapman shared a powerful personal story, recalling how TMH’s Emergency Department staff saved his life during a sudden and severe episode of tachycardia. “I’m here today because of the skill, speed, and care I received at TMH,” Chapman said. “It’s one thing to support your hospital—but when you experience that level of care firsthand, it becomes deeply personal. This is why donor support truly matters.”
TMHF is preparing for two major fundraisers this summer – The TMHF Bed Races will be held on June 22 at Homestead Marketplace and the John Smylie Memorial Golf Classic, presented by Smylie’s Your Independent Grocer on August 8 at Oak Hills Golf Club in Stirling.
