A teenager has been charged after a financial institute in Keene was robbed.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Peterborough County OPP received a call from the financial institute advising that they had just been robbed by three individuals brandishing weapons. The caller advised that the individuals entered the building demanding money and left with a quantity of Canadian currency.
No one was injured.
Officers arrived on scene and were provided descriptions of the three individuals as well as a vehicle in which they left. A short while later, officers located a vehicle matching the description and were able to safely bring it to a stop. Two of the suspects were found within the vehicle and were arrested.
A 17-year-old male from Brampton, ON., has been arrested and charged with;
· Armed Robbery
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 – three counts
· Disguise with Intent
The second accused, a 16-year-old from Brampton, ON., was arrested and charged with;
· Armed Robbery
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 – three counts
· Disguise with Intent
· Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Both accused are being held for bail. Due to the ages of the accused, their names will not be released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The investigation is ongoing.
