Belleville police responded to 121 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on May 5, 2025 to 5 a.m. on May 6, 2025.
Assault and breach of Probation
On May 5, 2025 at 11:46 a.m., police attended a residence in the city’s east end after receiving information that a resident had punched another person in the home and was threatening others. Following the investigation, police arrested and charged a 25-year-old Belleville woman with assault and breach of probation. She was held for a bail hearing.
Threatening to injure an animal leads to charges
On May 5, 2025 at 1:13 p.m., Belleville police attended a residence in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute. Police spoke to the involved parties. During their investigation, police learned that the involved male had threatened to injured the complainant’s dog. As a result, police arrested and charged the 42-year-old Belleville man with threatening to harm an animal. The male was later released on an undertaking with a court date in June.
