Belleville police responded to 125 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on April 30, 2025 to 5 a.m. on April 30, 2025.
Domestic Assault:
On April 30, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., Belleville police responded to a domestic dispute in progress at a residence in the city’s north end. Upon arrival, police spoke to a female who advised that her male partner was intoxicated, he had physically assaulted her and threatened to kill her. As a result of their investigation, police arrested and charged a 39-year-old Belleville man with assault and uttering threats. He was held for a bail hearing.
Roommate’s actions lead to criminal charges:
On April 30, 2025 at 4:30 p.m., a female attended the Belleville Police Service and reported that her male roommate who had moved in less than 24 hours earlier had sexually assaulter her. During their investigation, police learned that while the male was intoxicated, he sexually assaulted the female, refused her access to parts of the residence and exposed himself. The male also offered to pay for sexual acts from the female which were all refused. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 29-year-old Belleville man with mischief, indecent exposure and sexual assault. He was held for a bail hearing.
