Thomas DeRushie 1954 – 2025
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Thomas Walter DeRushie on Wednesday, April 02, 2025, at the age of 71, surrounded by his family at home.
Beloved son of the late Bessie Bowler and the late Carl DeRushie, Tom enjoyed music from all genres, took pleasure in cooking and spending time with his family.
Cherished husband of Bonnie DeRushie. Proud and loving father of Melissa DeRushie (Josh Paivio) and Meghan DeRushie (Nathan Mohammed). Dear Brother of Don DeRushie (Margaret), Debbie Aide (Keith), Cheryl DeRushie (Haans), predeceased Wayne DeRushie (Linda) and John DeRushie. And missed by in-laws John and Kay Young and sister-in-law Tammy Young (Allan). Uncle Tom will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
To honour his memory, the family will receive friends at the Steele Funeral Home 30 Moira St W, Belleville on Saturday April 12th from 2pm-4pm. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
The family sends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gartshore, Dr. Chooback and the amazing team in the Oncology Clinic at Quinte Health, as well as the VON nurses who looked after Tom as comfortable as they could.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Quinte Health Oncology or the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward would be appreciated by the family.
