The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defeated the Belleville Senators 8-3 on Saturday.
Angus Crookshank and Zack MacEwen scored for the Senators.
The Penguins opened scoring with two back-to-back goals in the first period, with the Senators grabbing their first just before the period ended. In the second, the Penguins scored first, followed by the Senators, before the Penguins grabbed two more, building on their lead. In the final frame, the Senators took their third and final goal of the night, before the Penguins grabbed three back-to-back to back goals, and took the game.
Belleville Senators head coach Dave Bell said he expects the team to perform better at their next game.
“They didn’t play great in Hershey, but Hershey is a really hard building to play in. And so you take the win and you probably overlook some of the mistakes we did. And we slipped a little bit,” said Coach Bell. “But you win a game in a really hard building, so you you let it slide and that’s on me. So it more than slid today and bit us in the butt. So we’ve got to get back to what makes us good.”
The Senators are on the road on Sunday, against the Hartford Wolf Pack. The puck drops at 5 p.m.
