A drug trafficking investigation in the Tweed area has resulted in two arrests.
In February, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation into the sale of cocaine and other illegal drugs in Tweed, Madoc and other surrounding communities.
Thursday, members of the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit and members of the Central Hastings Detachment, executed search warrants at locations on Mary Street and Victoria Street North in Tweed.
Officers arrested two people and seized nearly $2,300 in cash as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.
Jeffrey Grierson, age 49 and Erin Mullet, age 46, both residents of Tweed, have been charged with:
- Trafficking of a Schedule 1 substance
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Mullet was released from custody and Grierson was released following a bail hearing.
Both are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 17, 2025
