Environment Canada has issued another special weather statement for the region but it’s not more snow to be worried about. A significant rainfall is expected starting Tuesday and lasting through Wednesday night.
Special Weather Statement in effect for:
- Belleville – Quinte West – Eastern Northumberland County
- Picton – Sandbanks Park
- Stirling – Tweed – Madoc
Significant rainfall and mild temperatures expected Wednesday.
What: Rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm.
When: Beginning Tuesday night and ending Wednesday night.
Additional information: Rain, heavy at times, along with isolated thunderstorms will impact southern Ontario on Wednesday. This rainfall, combined with melting snow and the limited ability of the frozen ground to absorb this rainfall may lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas and water pooling on roads.
For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #ONStorm.
