On Wednesday, February 19, Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings (PEH) hosted its highly anticipated second annual “Raise the Roof” event, presented by Harmony Homes. This event brings the community together for a mid-winter night of live entertainment, fun activities, delicious food, and exciting door prizes.
Raise the Roof kicked off with live performances from Victor Cooper and The Stone Orchard Band.
Tom Streek, President of Harmony Homes noted, “Raise the Roof is always a great event and lots of fun. Most importantly, it raises funds to support affordable home ownership in our own community. We are proud to be a partner in building these homes with Habitat PEH as well as sponsoring Raise the Roof each year.”
During the night, Peter Knudsen, owner of K. Knudsen Construction, provided a matching donation for the funds raised during the event. “The overall result of combined fundraising for the event was $15,000 net being raised, a 75% increase over the prior year. We couldn’t be more pleased with the growing support of Raise the Roof each year,” noted Hazzem Koudsi, CEO of Habitat PEH. “All proceeds from Raise the Roof will go towards Habitat for Humanity PEH’s ongoing efforts to provide safe and affordable housing for hard-working families within our community.”
The popular “Sign a Stud” fundraiser allowed guests the opportunity to donate and then print a greeting on a stud which will be used as part of a future Habitat home build.
Habitat for Humanity PEH extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who attended, including presenting sponsor, Harmony Homes, Belleville Nissan, Quinte Broadcasting, Starboard Communication, The Royle Group/Century 21, St. Louis Bar and Grill, and the volunteers who made the event a resounding success.
