Belleville police responded to 71 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5 a.m. on February 20, 2025 to 5 a.m. on February 21, 2025.
Fail to comply with Release Order
On February 20, 2025 at 3:36 p.m., a Belleville police officer was in the area of Sidney Street and Moira Street West when they observed a male known to them to be on strict bail conditions which included house arrest. The male was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release order. The 46-year-old Belleville man was held in custody for a show cause hearing.
Disturbance leads to arrest
On February 20, 2025 at 2:32 p.m., Belleville police were dispatched to a disturbance at an apartment building in the city’s west end. Officers attended and dealt with an intoxicated 17-year-old female who was causing the disturbance. Officers believed the situation had been defused and they departed. Approximately 15 minutes later, officers were called back in regards to the same female trying to start fights with people in the building. As a result, police arrested the female for being intoxicated while in a common area of the building. She was transported to the Belleville Police Service where she remained until sober. She was issued a Provincial Offence Notice under the Liquor Licence Control Act.
Traffic Enforcement leads to Stunt Driving charge
On the 21st of February at 1:07am, Belleville Police were conducting traffic enforcement in the city’s north end. An officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. A 17-year-old male from Foxboro was stopped for travelling 153 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone on Hwy 62. His driver’s license was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. He was issued a Provincial Offence Summons with a court date in March for stunt driving.
