Robert Lynwood Simmons
April 20, 1940 – February 11, 2025
A gentle giant, who did everything his own way, has left this earth. Bob was a Track and Field star athlete, a Retired High School Teacher and Principal, a proud Prince Edward Islander, and a sincere, kind man. He lived each day finding ways to be thoughtful and helpful. Bob was very happily married to his soulmate, Penny for 27 years. He treated her like a princess every day. He was extremely proud of his two stepdaughters, Carly MacKinnon and Jen Williston and was happy to welcome their partners/spouses, Don Truesdell and Kevin Williston into his family. His grandsons Austin Reynolds and Rileigh Williston were a special joy to him. He showed his love by setting a good example. He deeply loved his family. Bob never procrastinated, tried to fix anything that was broken, and always helped people who were not blessed with good health like he was. He died suddenly, causing as little trouble to everyone as he could, and the empty space he has left cannot be filled. He is reunited in Heaven with his beloved dog Shadow. Cremation will be done at his request with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date. If desired, donations of peanut butter can be made to the Brighton Food bank in his memory.
