A vehicle that was discovered in a ditch in Prince Edward County has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.
Prince Edward County OPP were patrolling County Road 22 when they discovered a vehicle several meters off the shoulder of the roadway.
Further investigation led to an Approved Screening Device being used, and the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
55-year-old Anik Karmijee of Prince Edward County was arrested and charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 19, 2025.
They also had their driver’s license suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
