A 35-year-old male has been arrested after impersonating another male and fraudulently obtaining funds.
Between November 2023 and March 2024, the suspect impersonated another male and accessed multiple insurance policies. The suspect submitted applications online to cash several policies that were fraudulently obtained and received over $40,000.
On Wednesday, February 5, 2025 members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested the suspect in Peterborough. At the time of the arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of a vehicle that had been fraudulently obtained. Investigators have seized the vehicle and charged the suspect accordingly.
Jordon Ebony Fraser, age 35 of no fixed address is charged with multiple offences, including: fraud over $5000 x 7, personation x 6, utter forged document x 5, and possess identity information with inference of a fraudulent offence x 7.
He was held for a bail hearing.
