It was a good day for the Trenton Golden Hawks.
For the second week in a row they topped the top 20 on the CJHL’s weekly rankings.
(see top 20 below)
Then they went out and topped the Cobourg Cougars 4-3 to extend their winning streak to 10 games.
Trenton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second period but needed a goal by Devin Mauro (21st) early in the third to decide it.
Kyloe Ellis (5th), Cooper Matthews (25th) and Candon O’Neill (7th) also scored.
The Golden Hawks now enjoy a seven-point lead in the OJHL Eastern Conference with ten games to play.
They host the Markham Royals on Friday night.
The Wellington Dukes play their only Tuesday night home game tonight as they play host to the Haliburton County Huskies.
Game time is 7 o’clock at Lehigh Arena.
