Belleville police responded to 190 calls for service from 5 a.m. on January 31, 2025 to 5 a.m. on February 3, 2025.
Arrested on Warrants
On January 31, 2025 at 1:10 p.m., an officer on patrol in the city’s downtown core observed a male known to them and currently wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants. As a result, the 54-year-old Belleville man was arrested without incident on the strength of the warrants. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Assault and breach of probation
On February 1, 2025 at 2 a.m., Belleville police were called to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police learned that a male and female who were in a relationship had been involved in a dispute. During the investigation, police learned that the 37-year-old male had physically assaulted the female and that he was currently breaching his probation. During the incident, the male sustained a cut on his hand which required medical attention. He was transported to BGH where he received medical attention. He was later released from custody on an undertaking charged with assault and breach of probation. Police will not be releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Arrested on Warrants and breach of Undertaking
On February 2, 2025at 12:40 a.m., Belleville police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the city’s east end. Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties. Police learned that the male involved was wanted on an outstanding warrant and he was currently breaching conditions of an undertaking. As a result, the 40-year-old Belleville man was arrested on the warrant and further charged with two counts of breaching his undertaking. He was later released on an undertaking with a court date in March.
