Numerous charges have been laid following a break and enter investigation in Tweed.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Central Hastings OPP were called regarding someone entering a vacant cottage on Queensborough Road, north of Highway 7.
Upon arrival, officers saw an individual running away, and responding police were joined by the Emergency Response, Canine, and Community Street Crime Unit.
Officers found a nearby abandoned vehicle, then stopped another vehicle registered to the owner of the other vehicle.
Jesse Gornall, age 48 of Quinte West, has been charged with:
- Break and enter
- Possession of break-in instruments
- Mischief under $5,000
- Driving while under suspension
- Use of a plate not authorized for a vehicle
- Fail to comply with a probation order – two counts
