Three males are facing charges after they fled from a stolen vehicle following a collision in Clarington.
On Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at approximately 1:55 a.m., members of East Division responded to a collision in the area of Brown Street and King Street East. A black Honda SUV left the roadway and hit a light post. Witnesses reported that there were three occupants in the vehicle who fled the area prior to police arrival. It was subsequently learned that the vehicle was reported stolen. Officers searched the area and located the three suspects who were taken into custody without incident.
Anthony Robert Henri, age 33 from Ajax is charged with: possess property obtained by crime over $5000, driving while under suspension, use unauthorized plate, fail to remain, and fail to comply with probation order x 2.
Mark Anthony Wintels, age 65 from Ajax is charged with: possess property obtained by crime over $5000.
Justin Jeremy Coburn, age 27 from Clarington is charged with: possess property obtained by crime over $5000, and fail to comply with undertaking.
Henri and Coburn were held for a bail hearing. Wintels was released on an undertaking.
