A search and rescue helicopter from 8 Wing Trenton assisted in the rescue of an injured hiker in Frontenac Provincial Park on the weekend.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon after the hiker sustained a serious leg injury.
OPP say they used the “What 3 Words” phone application to pinpoint the location of the hiker who was located on the Slide Lake loop, seven kilometres into the trail.
The hiker had to be airlifted out of the park and was taken to hospital around 8:45 p.m.
Police have not provided an update on the hiker’s condition.
