The driver of a U-Haul is facing multiple charges after police received several reports of a reckless driver on Highway 401 in the Napanee area.
Several calls came into Lennox & Addington OPP Friday afternoon about an eastbound U-Haul speeding recklessly while further calls were received about the same U-Haul striking other vehicles on the highway.
OPP learned the vehicle had stopped near Highway 15 and Highway 401, where the driver fled into a passing vehicle, then jumped out of that vehicle near Joyceville Road and fled on foot.
The driver was arrested shortly after with the assistance of the East Region Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine and members of the Frontenac OPP Detachment.
A 48-year-old Cambridge person is charged with:
Dangerous operation – two counts
Failure to stop after accident – four counts

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
