For many thousands of people in the Quinte region it was a relaxing weekend.
That was not the case for local candidates in the Bay of Quinte by-election.
Premier Doug Ford was the latest in a list of heavy hitters that the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario brought to the riding to door-knock with candidate Tyler Allsopp.
Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy, along with Associate Minister of Health Michael Tibollo we’re also in the riding over the last week.

The New Democratic Party of Ontario brought the Leader of the Official Opposition Marit Stiles to Belleville Sunday, to door-knock, have a barbecue with local union members, and open the campaign office for candidate Amanda Robertson.

The Liberal Leader of Ontario made multiple trips to the riding for door-knocking with Liberal candidate Sean Kelly.
Kelly is scheduled to open his Quinte West campaign office on Tuesday September 3 at 103 Dundas Street West at 5:30 p.m.

Bay of Quinte Green Party of Ontario candidate Lori Borthwick spent the long weekend door-knocking, which included a visit from Leader Mike Schreiner.
Borthwick also is having pop-up meet-and-greets over the next two-plus weeks of the campaign.
There are also two other candidates in the race in the Bay of Quinte riding.
Margaret Schuler is the candidate for the New Blue Party, while Mark Snow has filed his papers, running as an independent.
The by-election is scheduled for Thursday September 19.
