The City of Belleville is getting “great value for money” when it comes to police service.
So says the city’s Acting Chief of Police Chris Barry.
Barry was responding to Monday’s decision by council to not go ahead and spend between $125,000 and $225,000 on a consultant to do a value for money study.
“We’re constantly doing assessments with services of similar size like Timmins, like Cornwall, like South Simcoe, and we have a tremendous police service here with very very hard working dedicated members and I can assure you that we get good value for the dollar that’s spent here.”
Barry thanked council for its decision saying such a study would likely cause extreme anxiety for members of the police service and some people in the wider community.
