Ian Ketcheson, a student at Bayside Secondary School, won gold in welding at the Skills Ontario Competition on May 7.
The event took place at the Toronto Congress Centre.
It is Ketcheson’s third consecutive year securing the top prize for welding in the province which also earns him a spot to compete nationally.
National competition will take place in Quebec City at the end of May where Ketcheson will be accompanied by his teacher supervisor, Mike Burns.
