The former head coach/general manager for both local OJHL teams is getting recognized for his incredible season in the Central Canada Hockey League.
Marty Abrams was with the Wellington Dukes from 1998-2017 and the Trenton Golden Hawks in 2017-18
He is a finalist for the Canadian Junior Hockey League Coach of the Year.
The coach for the Navan Grads is in his sixth season in the CCHL and the Grads finished with a league-leading 36-9-3-2 record, finishing first overall in the 12-team CCHL.
The Grads were tops in the league in goals for (235) and were third in fewest allowed (144).
Navan would also go on to win the Bogart Cup, which is the CCHL Championship Trophy.
Abrams has coached in the Ontario Hockey League with the Soo Greyhounds, while serving as head scout for both the Kingston Frontenacs and the London Knights.
In his playing days, Abrams (goaltender), was a draft pick of the Washington Capitals (1983).
