The following was submitted by the Quinte Rotary Music Festival.
The Quinte Rotary Music Festival Final Competitions were held at the St. Matthew’s United Church on Holloway Street in Belleville Friday April 12.
The music festival is an annual coming together of talented individuals and groups to compete and be adjudicated by qualified professionals. A joint project of several Rotary Clubs with participation by many volunteers. It enhances the Rotary objective to promote humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. The Quinte Rotary Music Festival helps the students by boosting their self-esteem, developing their musical skills, building teamwork skills and by providing performance experience. John Chisolm, Chairperson for the Quinte Rotary Music Festival commented “by nurturing local talent and promoting cultural exchanges, the festival contributes to the presentation of our musical heritage and reinforces Belleville’s as well as the surrounding area’s commitment to art and culture”.
This year’s event was sponsored by Rudolf Heijdens, Loyalist College, Riverside Music, Pinnacle Music School, Long & McQuade Musical Instruments, Best Western, Nesda Technologies Ltd., Albert College, City of Belleville, and The Parrot Foundation.
The weeklong festival saw adjudicators Allison Cecilia Arends, Dan Tremblay and Frank Horvat provide feedback to some pretty incredible performers. YOU can enjoy fantastic this fantastic demonstration of beautiful music during the Festival of Stars at Maranatha Church (Belleville) on May 1 at 7:00.
The Trophy Competition consisted of participants that played in specific classes during the week and received an 85% or greater in their top three compulsory classes had an opportunity to compete for trophies in four disciplines.

Silver Tray (piano)- TIE for first: Isabella Guan AND Mia Noronha
Silver Pitcher (Brass)- Christopher Virtue
Joe Demesa (highest score during festival)- Christopher Virtue
