An alleged impaired driver is facing charges after a vehicle struck a sign in Belleville’s north end Thursday afternoon.
Just after 4 p.m., police received a complaint of a motor vehicle weaving in and out of traffic on Highway 62 near Millennium Drive and the driver appearing to nod off.
Belleville Police located the motorist in the area of Tracey Street and Thompson Court where the vehicle had struck a sign.
A 38-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with impaired operation and over 80mgs.
His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He was released on an undertaking with a court date in April.
