Prince Edward County council has donated $3,253 as part of the annual Feed the Meter fundraising campaign.
Feed the Meter runs during the month of December, where parking at parking meters is made free, while all money inserted into the meters is donated to help support school lunches through the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation’s Food for Learning program..
The 2023 season was the 15th year of the campaign, and the campaign has now raised over $360,000.
During 2023, 543 students in Prince Edward County accessed Food for Learning support daily, and in the county over 110,000 meals and snacks were provided to students.
