A man drowned in Rice Lake Thursday.
Northumberland OPP, local fire and EMS responded to a marine call on the lake north of Harwood around 2 p.m.
Someone was reportedly in distress in the water and was calling for help.
Members of the public went out to assist, however the male went underwater and never resurfaced.
Police located the 65-year-old male from Oshawa in the water, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario is assisting with the investigation.
No foul play is suspected.
