Belleville Police and Fire are thankful no one was injured following a fire that was set in the downtown Thursday morning.
Police and fire crews responded to a report of a fire at a Front Street address around 10:45 where they say someone intentionally set a blanket on fire and placed it on top of a gas meter.
The nearby building was occupied when the fire was set.
Investigation led to the arrest of a 35-year-old man a few hours later.
The male, of no fixed address, was held for a bail hearing on charges of arson and two counts of failing to comply with his probation order.
