Brighton will be hiring a Roads Manager later this year despite the efforts of at least one council member who wanted to take a closer look at staffing levels. With the retirement of the Rural Roads Supervisor later this year councillor Brian Ostrander wanted council’s input before hiring a replacement. Council approved the hiring in a 4-3 vote. CAO Gayle Frost stressed that council had approved the structure and expanded duties of the Public Works and Enviromental Services Department.
