Ontario Provincial Police charged a driver who allegedly failed to stop for police on the weekend.
A Quinte West OPP officer was patrolling Highway 401 late Sunday morning when he attempted to pull over a westbound truck that was too small for the trailer it was towing.
The driver continued to travel for a considerable distance, eventually coming to a stop in Cramahe Township in Northumberland County.
Officers from both detachment areas were able to arrest the driver without further incident.
Investigation revealed that the trailer had been reported stolen.
Police also recovered a small quantity of drugs during the arrest.
Pierre Aubin, 59-years-old, from Ottawa has been charged with:
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Opioid
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine
- Operate Unsafe Vehicle
- Driving While Under Suspension
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 24.
